Diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease: An Exploratory Study of the Association with Quality of

Currently recruiting for this study of sleep deficiency in adults aged 18 years and older with sickle cell disease.

My professional goal is to conduct research that focuses on two major areas surrounding chronic diseases: (1) factors that affect sleep among individuals with sickle cell disease, and (2) examination of racial and socio-economic health care disparities among people of color.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) - Columbia University School of Nursing. Currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Long Island University Brooklyn.

Graduate Student, Columbia University

2013 - 2018

Conducted dissertation research on quality of life in Latino and non-Latino youth aged 8-18 years with sickle cell disease. For this mixed methods study, I completed linguistic validation of Pediatric Quality of Life (PedsQL) Sickle Cell Disease Module and quantitatively examined factors associated with quality of life in a sample of youth with sickle cell disease.
